Steamboat Briefs: Singers needed for CMC's Easter 'Messiah' show

Singers, especially tenors and sopranos, are needed to join Colorado Mountain College's presentation of the Yampa Valley Chorus singing the Easter portion of Handel's "Messiah" with the Steamboat Strings Orchestra, April 11 and 12. Rehearsals are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at Steamboat Springs Middle School in Strawberry Park. If you have a "Messiah" score, please take it to rehearsals. Call Marie Carmichael at 871-4883.

Integrated Community seeks volunteers, donations

Integrated Community is seeking volunteers to help teach English as a second language classes, along with promoting self-sufficiency and work readiness to new community members from foreign countries or cultures. CIIC also is seeking in-kind donations of new or lightly used fax machines, a TV and DVD player, teleconference voice interface, a coffee table and a small, open-back bookshelf. Extension office looking for sewing volunteers

The Routt County Cooperative Extension Office is looking for volunteers to teach fiber skills such as sewing, knitting and felting, during the upcoming 4-H Fiber Arts Camp, Feb. 18 and 19. Help needed to organize Girls to Women conference

The Girls to Women Steering Committee is seeking members. The steering committee organizes the Girls to Women conference annually. The 2009 conference is April 14 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. The conference is intended to introduce eighth-grade girls from Routt County, Walden and North Park school districts to a variety of career choices as well as to inspire and encourage them to believe they can achieve their dreams of financial independence and a fulfilling life. Committee members organize all aspects of the conference, including: facilities, program content, decor, volunteers, PR/marketing, registration and evaluation.
