— Routt County Search and Rescue crews responded to two incidents Saturday, resolving both safely.

The first page went out about 1:15 p.m. after an 8-year-old Houston boy was injured on a commercial snowmobile tour. Search and Rescue incident commander Russ Sanford said the boy was riding tandem on a snowmobile with his father, who was operating the machine. The boy hit his back on the backrest as the snowmobile went over a small jump. The boy was stabilized because of the back injury and was conscious and alert as he was transported to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

Later Saturday afternoon, rescuers responded to the drainage of the North Fork of Fish Creek where a group of four people backcountry skiing reported one member of their party stuck in the drainage. Rescuers brought the male safely out of the drainage, Sanford said.
