Steamboat Springs Wednesday, Feb. 25
12:15 a.m. A fight was reported in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. One man had minor injuries to his face, but the unknown suspects were gone when police arrived.
1:50 a.m. A 38-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested during a traffic stop at Lincoln Avenue and Dream Island Plaza, on suspicion of driving under the influence, DUI per se and careless driving.
2:07 a.m. A fight was reported in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue. No one was there when police arrived.
4:40 a.m. A fire alarm went off in the 1100 block of Steamboat Boulevard. Everything was fine.
7:57 a.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported at Laurel Street and Missouri Avenue. Police took a report.
8:22 a.m. A dog at large was reported in the 27500 block of Winchester Trail. The animal was returned to its owner.
8:27 a.m. Check fraud was reported in the 600 block of Huckleberry Lane, where a resident received a fraudulent check in the mail. Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies took a report.
10:08 a.m. A possible drunken driver was reported at Lincoln Avenue and Elk River Road. Police contacted the woman, who was a new driver but was not intoxicated.
10:22 a.m. Steamboat police assisted a motorist at U.S. Highway 40 and Mount Werner Road.
10:55 a.m. A border collie was hit by a car on Routt County Road 25. The dog did not survive.
11:59 a.m. A Bible was reported found in a parking lot off Highway 40 on Rabbit Ears Pass.
12:47 p.m. Cash was reported stolen from a locker on East Maple Street. Police took a report.
1:49 p.m. A vehicle complaint was received from Lincoln Avenue and Third Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
3:26 p.m. A minor in possession citation was issued on East Maple Street.
3:50 p.m. Dogs at large were reported in the 3600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The dogs were taken to the shelter.
3:50 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. Police took a report.
4:20 p.m. A dog at large was reported in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. The dog was returned to its owner. Animal control officers gave a warning.
4:52 p.m. Abandoned kittens reportedly were found underneath a porch in the 400 block of Willow Bend in Oak Creek.
4:54 p.m. Two dogs at large were reported in the 3600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The dogs were taken to the shelter, and their owner was ticketed.
5:34 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported in the 1300 block of Bob Adams Drive. Police took a report.
5:50 p.m. A possible restraining order violation was reported in the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue. The report was unfounded.
6:08 p.m. A street sweeper broke down on 13th Street. The vehicle later was moved.
6:30 p.m. A noise complaint was received from the 2600 block of Medicine Springs Drive. Police gave a warning.
7:03 p.m. A fire alarm went off in the 40600 block of Anchor Way. Everything was fine.
7:28 p.m. A one-vehicle rollover accident was reported near mile marker 141 on Highway 40, where a semitrailer rolled on Rabbit Ears Pass. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital as a precaution, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
7:36 p.m. A welfare check was requested in the 400 block of Tamarack Drive, where a neighbor heard screaming from a nearby residence. Everything was fine.
7:58 p.m. A parking complaint was received from the 800 block of Yampa Street. Police ticketed the vehicle.
8:05 p.m. Steamboat police assisted a motorist at Mount Werner Road and Highway 40.
10:40 p.m. Domestic violence was reported in Steamboat Springs. The incident was a verbal altercation, and the parties were separated for the night.
11:54 p.m. The sound of shots fired was reported on Apple Drive. Police were unable to locate the source of the noise, and nothing appeared out of order.
