Business File: SmartWool names new vice president of marketing

SmartWool Corporation has promoted Carol Davidson to vice president of marketing, according to a news release.
Before she joined SmartWool in 2005, Davidson was a creative director at DDB Advertising Agency in Seattle, creative director at BrandLab, and associate creative director at Hammerquist and Saffel, the release stated.
"SmartWool is a phenomenal company, and I'm thrilled to be stepping up to a new level," Davidson stated in the release. "I really do believe in the wool and brand. : As one of the top 10 strongest brands in the outdoor industry, we have a lot of momentum, and I'm excited to see just how far we can take the brand."
Union Wireless, Our Town Directories to partner up
Union Wireless and Our Town Directories are partnering to provide directory advertising sales, service and publishing in a two-state area, according to a news release. Under the agreement, Our Town Directories will provide directory services to Union Wireless clients in Union's traditional service areas of western and southern Wyoming, as well as northeastern Utah, the companies reported.
"This partnership will continue to provide our clients with the level of service, support and effective advertising they have come to expect from Union Wireless," Rob Elwood, director of sales and marketing for Union, said in the news release. "Moving forward, this change allows both Union Wireless and Our Town Directories to each focus on our core business."
Free CD-ROM could help investors find wealth

SCORE, which counsels small businesses, is offering new resources for minority entrepreneurs at the SCORE Web site, www.score.org.
