Alpine teams finish 3rd in Beaver Creek

The Steamboat Springs High School boys and girls Alpine teams each finished third on Friday in Beaver Creek.
Pacing the boys in the giant slalom event was Connor Bernard, with a third-place finish.
Other finishers included Josh Fix in 11th, Conner Herbison in 16th, Alec Schaffer in 19th, Daniel Wright in 22nd and Hunter Willis in 24th.
The girls team was paced by Cassady Daley in eighth place. Jamie Gay finished ninth, Julia Cooper finished 10th, Hanna Berglund finished 12th, Lorin Paley finished 14th and Linnea Dixson finished 15th.
The Beaver Creek race wraps up the regular season for the Alpine team.
The Nordic and Alpine teams next compete Feb. 19 and 20 at the State Skiing Championships at Ski Cooper.
