Ski Town Realtor Brian Ladd joins Land Institute

— Brian Ladd, owner of Ski Town Real Estate, has been selected for membership by the Realtors' Land Institute, headquartered in Chicago. He joins a group of more than 1,200 land specialists throughout North America.

RLI focuses on land brokerage transactions within five specialized types: farms and ranches, undeveloped tracts of land, development land, subdivision and wholesaling of lots, and site selection and assemblage of land parcels.

Through RLI Land University, the Institute provides specialty education for members to become current in all aspects of taxation, investment, brokerage, subdividing, and planning regarding agricultural, transitional, recreational and timberland.

Average Steamboat prices top $900,000

Average real estate transaction prices in Steamboat's historic downtown and the base of the ski area eclipsed $900,000 in 2008. Both figures were up dramatically from 2007, when the broader Steamboat market set its record dollar volume of $1.587 billion.

The average price in the downtown area was $908,000, and the median price was $681,250. The average price in 2007 was $824,500.

The average price at the mountain was $952,000, compared to the median price of $555,000. The average price at the mountain in 2007 was $780,400.
