Rocky Mountain Youth Corps honors local teen

Celso Cano, 16, of Steamboat Springs, received the Corpsmember of the Year award from Rocky Mountain Youth Corps and the Colorado Youth Corps Association at the annual Youth Corps Awards Ceremony on Jan. 26 in Denver.

Cano, a student at Yampa Valley High School, was recognized for his teamwork while serving as corps member in the summer.

"Celso blossomed during his time with the RMYC conservation corps program last summer. In doing so, Celso spread a bit of sunshine to his crew mates, his leader and all of us here at RMYC," said RMYC Executive Director Gretchen Van De Carr. "It is members like Celso that show us all we can do anything we want, if we just put our minds to it."
