12:07 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers arrested a 26-year-old Steamboat man on suspicion of being a fugitive of justice after receiving a report of a suspicious person in the 1900 block of Rockies Way.

1:05 a.m. Police were called to a report of drunken pedestrians at Burgess Creek Road and Christie Drive. Two brothers, 28 and 31 years old, were yelling and falling down. Officers made contact with them in their driveway and determined that everything was fine.

3:22 a.m. Police were called to a report of assault. They arrested a 24-year-old Steamboat man on suspicion of unlawful sexual contact, third-degree assault, false imprisonment, obstruction of telephone, harassment and being a fugitive of justice on a trespassing charge in Summit County.

6:13 a.m. Police were dispatched to a wildlife call at Walton Creek Road and U.S. Highway 40. A moose was in the intersection slipping on the ice. Officers shooed it away.

8:13 a.m. Police arrested a 19-year-old Steamboat man on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for a criminal mischief charge in the 2000 block of Shield Drive. The man turned himself in.

9:40 a.m. Police were called to a report that the driver of a silver Honda tried to run over a parking attendant at Steamboat Ski Area’s Knoll Parking Lot. Police said the attendant was blocking the entrance because the lot was full. Officers were unable to locate the car after it was seen heading toward town. The incident is still being investigated.

11 a.m. Deputies, Hayden police and West Routt Fire Protection District emergency responders were called to report of a fire at a trailer in the 1100 block of West Jefferson Avenue. The fire started when a man tried to thaw a frozen water heater pipe with a portable propane torch. An 88-year-old woman died from smoke inhalation.

11:33 a.m. Steamboat police were called to a report of a snowboard stolen the previous afternoon from the 2200 block of Village Inn Court. The snowboard was valued at $400.

1:02 p.m. Police were called to a report of theft in the 2200 block of Village Inn Court. A snowboard valued at $800 was stolen.

1:21 p.m. Police and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue were called to a report of a car crash at Downhill Drive and U.S. 40. A Saturn sedan was traveling east on U.S. 40 when it tried to turn left in front of a Sheraton Steamboat Resort shuttle van. The vehicles collided, but no one was injured. The driver of the Saturn, a 19-year-old Steamboat man, was cited with failure to yield while turning left and not having proof of insurance.

2:52 p.m. North Routt Fire Protection District emergency responders were dispatched to a carbon monoxide alarm in the 31000 block of Routt County Road 64 near Clark. A gas-operated pressure washer in a garage caused the carbon monoxide alarm to sound. Everything was fine.
