Steamboat Briefs: No cause identified in North Routt log cabin fire
Thursday, December 24, 2009
A fire early Saturday at a log cabin in North Routt County is still being investigated, North Routt Fire Protection District Chief Bob Reilley said Tuesday.
North Routt firefighters, with Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders, were dispatched at 4:07 a.m. Saturday to the home at 26659 Willow Gulch Drive.
Reilley said by the time crews arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. It was destroyed by the blaze, he said. Reilley said no one was home and that the fire didn’t spread. The homeowner does not want to be identified, Reilley said. He said she was getting enough support from the community.
A search of the address indicated that the three-bedroom, three-bathroom home was on the market for $1.2 million. When reached Tuesday morning, listing agent Christine Pearson, of Steamboat Springs-based Christine Pearson Real Estate, declined to provide information about the home or the homeowner.
