Jury's verdict: Guilty

A jury returned a verdict of guilty against Craig man Terry Hankins about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday morning in Moffat County District Court.
Hankins was convicted of first-degree murder, a Class 1 felony, and abuse of a corpse, a Class 2 misdemeanor, in connection with the June 2007 death of his wife, 34-year-old Cynthia Hankins, also of Craig.
The jury begin deliberating at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Michael O'Hara, chief judge of the 14th Judicial District, sentenced Hankins to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The judge said he had no discretion in the mandatory sentence.
