Middle school wrestlers from Steamboat, Hayden and South Routt County are going to the state meet this weekend in Denver after posting top finishes at the second annual Colorado Middle School Regional Tournament in Grand Junction.

The registration deadlines for Little League and American Legion baseball in Hayden are today. Little League is for children ages 8 to 15. Those interested in registering can visit Hayden Town Hall at 178 W. Jefferson Ave.

I am sure that when store owners decided to open their shops off Lincoln Avenue, they had good reasons for doing so. Now that the economy is not doing so well, they would like to generate more traffic. I'll bet that the stores on Lincoln Avenue would like more traffic, too.

Our View: Cycling safety a 2-way street

Each spring - particularly in recent years - seems to bring with it increased conflicts between cyclists and motorists. Sadly, Routt County is off to an early start this year, with at least two accidents between cyclists and motorists in March alone. We hope that trend doesn't continue through the summer and fall.
