Library parking lot closed Monday for paving

The Bud Werner Memorial Library parking lot and Yampa Avenue entrance will be closed for final paving on Monday. Parking will be available on 13th Street or Yampa Avenue. Please use the Lincoln Avenue entrance into the library building. Materials can be returned inside the library or via the City Market Book Drop. The parking lot and Yampa Avenue entrance will re-open Tuesday.

Yampa Valley Team seeks support to fight ALS

The Yampa Valley Team is seeking support to fight ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Join the walk at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at Denver City Park, near Denver Zoo, or donate to The ALS Association at www.alsaco.org. Be sure to indicate the Yampa Valley Team. Donations also may be mailed to 580 Anglers Drive, No. 104, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487. Donations will help provide community-based patient services and research to find a cure, as well as honor those who have lost the fight. Call 846-8323 with questions.

Wyman Museum seeks best pies for contest

The Wyman Museum in Craig is looking for the best berry, fruit and cream/custard pies. The contest will be held in conjunction with Sheep Wagon Days on Oct. 4 and 5. If you think you have the best pie and would like to enter the contest, call the Wyman Museum at 824-6347. All recipes will be put into the museum's "Fall Flavors" recipe book. The best pie in each category will be given a winning basket and be placed as the 2008 "Best Pie" in the book. The deadline to enter is Oct. 1.
