Steamboat Springs Rescuers transported two local men with minor injuries out of the Gold Creek area Friday night.
Dawn Alperti, incident commander with Routt County Search and Rescue, said responders were called to the Gold Creek Trail area, in North Routt County at the east end of Seedhouse Road, just before 10 p.m. Friday.
Alperti said a party of four elderly men, all at least part-time locals, were fishing in the area and began to hike out when bad weather rolled in. One man fell and another had chronic ailments, Alperti said. Rescuers carried one man out on a modified stretcher and another rode out on a four-wheeler, she said.
The man who fell was transferred to the North Routt Fire Protection District for care, Alperti said, but the injuries were not serious.
