Collect all taxes, fairly
Steamboat Springs — Contractors routinely have a "job cost" system which ensures that all material invoices are coded to the correct job. In addition, the invoices themselves undoubtedly have an assigned job number or a purchase order number which correlates to a specific job. Normal vendor files can be used to identify all invoices from a single vendor and the time period in which they were incurred.
Contractors pay Federal taxes on their profits which are calculated on a "completed contract" or "percentage complete" basis. Believe me, they know their costs. :
Simple matter - collect all taxes, collect them fairly, collect them fully.
If you fail to collect these taxes, you are effectively raising everybody else's taxes, and that is not fair.

Rob: Appreciate the coverage. I don't have a dog in the fight, but we need in depth coverage to know what is going on. Too often our politics are done behind the scenes and all that we see is a lovefest. To have a healthy community, we all need to know the story or all we see are the results.

Crosswalk upgrade costs
So ... in downtown Steamboat ... has anyone noticed folks actually using crosswalks unless that's the exact point they want to cross?
