CMC officials interview final CEO candidate

Peter Perhac, the final of four candidates for the campus chief executive officer position at Colorado Mountain College's Alpine Campus, was interviewed and met the public Tuesday.

Perhac, who is the CEO of Chapman University's Fairfield, Calif., campus, also has served at Touro University in Henderson, Nev., and Vallejo, Calif.

The other three finalists Robert Edelbrock, Deborah Loper and Brenda Steuer - were interviewed and greeted in a community reception Sept. 9.

Perhac could not attend that round of interviews due to a scheduling conflict.

Debra Crawford, director of public relations for the CMC system, said a hiring decision likely will be made in the next few weeks.

"We're hoping, depending on how much time they need for relocation, that (the new CEO) can start in October," she said.

Each candidate was interviewed by a series of teams including faculty, staff, interim Dean John Vickery and community members.

The position, formerly called dean, was vacated when Kerry Hart took a job as president of Morgan Community College in Fort Morgan.
