Deadline for golf tournament is Thursday

— The deadline to register to play in the Sailors Golf Shootout benefit tournament at Catamount Ranch and Club is Thursday. The Sept. 8 tournament benefits all area youth golf programs, with an emphasis on the Steamboat Springs High School golf team. The tournament begins at noon with a shotgun start. The format is four-person modified best ball. The cost is $150 per person and includes prizes. There also will be silent and live auctions. Youth Orchestra holding auditions Sept. 7 and 8

Steamboat Springs Orchestra's Youth Orchestra and Ensemble Program is holding auditions Sept. 7 and 8, and invites string, woodwind, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba and piano students to participate. Volleyball registration deadline is Friday

Friday is the registration deadline for fourth- and fifth-grade girls volleyball in Hayden. Participants will play from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Hayden Valley Elementary School, starting Sept. 10. The cost is $25.

Knitters, donations needed for pink scarf fundraiser

Knitters and donations are needed for the annual pink scarf fundraiser for the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project. Call Jo at 846-2627 for more information.

Bud Werner Memorial library closed during move

Bud Werner Memorial Library is closed to the public through Sept. 12, to allow for the moving of collections and set-up in the new library building. During closure, there are no overdue fines, and bookdrops will remain open. Museum displaying wildlife photographs

The Tracks and Trails Museum at 129 E. Main St. in Oak Creek is featuring Daniel Ellertson's wildlife photographs, on display on the Artist's Wall. This exciting exhibit is free and open to the public for two months. All are welcome. With questions, call 736-8245 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

County to close C.R. 51B through September

Routt County Road 51B from Routt County Road 27 west to Xcel's Hayden Station will be closed to all vehicle traffic from today through Sept. 30, 2008, for a realignment. C.R. 51B can be accessed on the west side from C.R. 51. Call the Routt County Road and Bridge Department at 879-0831 for information.
