Youth choir registration deadline approaching

Registration is being accepted from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Mondays for the fall 2008 community youth choir directed by Keri Rusthoi. No audition or experience is necessary. Children ages 7 to 15 are eligible for the choir. The deadline is Sept. 5. Rehearsals begin Sept. 15, and a performance is Dec. 15. For more information, call Rusthoi at 879-1996.

Creative Expression class needs sewing supplies

The Steamboat Springs High School Creative Expression class needs donations of fabric and sewing supplies for use by students. All donations can be dropped off at the high school main office or by contacting Gayle Dudley at or 871-3641.

VNA, Aging Well offering Healthier Living workshop

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association and Aging Well are accepting registration for an upcoming Healthier Living workshop, designed for adults ages 50 and older who want to take charge of their ongoing health problems and get relief from pain, fatigue and other symptoms. Bust of Steamboat needs artists, sponsors

Organizers of The Bust of Steamboat are accepting sponsors and artists to create unique bra designs for a live auction during this year's event, from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at Three Peaks Bar & Grill. To see past entries and auctions, visit Sponsorships are a tax-deductible donation of $350 to the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project and include two tickets to the event. All the money raised stays in Routt and Moffat counties to help uninsured and under-insured women to pay for mammograms and annual wellness exams and assist in breast cancer treatment costs. LIFT-UP offers food assistance until Sept. 30

LIFT-UP of Routt County is distributing USDA commodities for the third quarter of 2008 at LIFT-UP offices in Steamboat Springs, Hayden and Oak Creek, through the Emergency Food Assistance Program. Each eligible household may receive TEFAP foods once per quarter. This quarterly distribution ends Sept. 30. Food will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 870-8804 from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to inquire about income-eligibility and hours of operation for each office.
