Routt County Fairgrounds open for indoor riding

Riders who want to exercise their horses indoors can use the Routt County Fairgrounds for $5 per person per hour, and monthly passes are available. The schedule for open riding is at www.routtcountyfair.org.

The indoor arena will be open at least through April and possibly into May, depending on weather, Fair Manager Jill Delay said.

"We've got this great million-dollar facility, and it's an amenity of the county, really," Delay said. "We just try to recoup our operating costs."

The fairgrounds, at 398 S. Poplar St. in Hayden, does not provide horses, Delay said.

Half-cent committee offers yard signs to community

Members of the Half Cent Makes Sense Committee announced that yard signs are available for community members who want to show their support for ballot issues 2A and 2B - the renewal of the half-cent sales tax for education and the expansion of its funding boundaries to include other Routt County school districts.

Signs are available behind Cantina Mexican restaurant in downtown Steamboat.

Members of the Half Cent Makes Sense Committee also will answer questions about 2A and 2B from noon to 4 p.m. today, Saturday, Sunday, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 in front of City Market and Safeway in Steamboat Springs. For more information, call Kristi Brown at 819-0053.
