Tigers fall to Meeker; playoff chances slim

— The Hayden football team's chances of making the playoffs took a major hit Friday night. The Tigers lost to Meeker, 26-25. The setback makes it unlikely the team will be chosen to fill one of four wild card spots available after the season ends.

The loss was the third in the past four games for the Tigers (4-4), and drops them to the lower half of the Western Slope League.

Hayden will play its final regular season game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at home against West Grand. With a victory, the Tigers still could finish fourth in the league.
