Steamboat Briefs for May 28

The Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation Commission is holding a public meeting tonight as it prepares to develop a parks and recreation master plan for the city. The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center.

"The intent of this comprehensive plan is to identify our community's park and recreation needs so we can proactively plan for the future," a city news release states.

The city will work with consultants GreenPlay LLC to develop a community needs assessment that will become part of the master plan. Future focus group meetings also are planned but have not yet been scheduled.
