A local youth is hospitalized with serious injuries sustained when he was run over by a car Saturday at Three Circles Ranch west of Steamboat Springs.
Steamboat Springs Middle School student Bentley Garitty was listed in fair condition Tuesday in the intensive care unit at The Children's Hospital in Aurora, spokeswoman Sarah Woodard said.
Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue and Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Three Circles Ranch just after 3 p.m. Saturday. Three Circles Ranch is north of U.S. Highway 40, near Duckels' gravel pit. Bentley was "seriously hurt" in the accident, Assistant Fire Chief Bob Struble said.
Bentley's mother could not be reached for comment Tuesday. The Routt County Sheriff's Office did not return calls for comment.
