Steamboat Springs Multiple power outages Tuesday morning have left some Yampa Valley Electric Association customers without power and blacked out traffic lights in the west Steamboat Springs area, including the light at the busy intersection of U.S. Highway 40 and Elk River Road. YVEA spokesman Jim Chappell was out of town and unavailable for comment. Press inquiries were referred to Paul Vaillancourt, who has not yet returned a phone message seeking comment. The outages seemed to affect west Steamboat in particular, but outages were also reported in downtown Steamboat late Tuesday morning.
Strawberry Park Elementary School was also without power as of noon Tuesday.
Power has been restored in at least some areas, but it is unclear whether all outages have been resolved.
