Youth Corps extends application deadline
Spots are still available for service this summer with the Community Youth Corps, which includes work on community projects such as trail building and maintenance, landscaping, fence construction and more.
Ten two-week sessions are available for 14- to 16-year-olds. One week is spent working in town, and the other is spent camping and working in the backcountry. Sessions start June 2 and end August 15. The pay is $7.52 per hour.

Chamber announces Home & Garden Expo
The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association presents the first Home and Garden Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel.
The event is sponsored by Vivid FX Concrete Coatings. Chamber members in the home and garden industry are invited to exhibit. Booth space costs $100.
The deadline to register is May 5. All are invited to attend the expo. For more information, call Angie Kimmes at 875-7003.
Register for summer sports by May 7
The city of Steamboat Springs Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department has announced that May 7 is the registration deadline for adult softball and adult soccer summer leagues.
All teams who intend to play this summer must have all fees submitted to the department's office, at 245 Howelsen Parkway, by 5 p.m. that day. Call Kit Rice at 879-4300.
Routt County seeking PDR grant applications
Routt County's Purchase of Development Rights Program is accepting applications for this year's round of grants. Applications are due May 7. The program compensates landowners with cash for putting their property under conservation easements.
Interested property owners should contact the Yampa Valley Land Trust at 879-7240 or Helena Bond in the Routt County Board of Commissioners office at 879-0108.
