Seminars for managers, supervisors

— A series of seminars for managers and supervisors will be offered at Colorado Mountain College this year, according to a news release. The programs are Enhancing Employee Performance and Accountability on April 11, Enhancing Your Interpersonal and Leadership Skills through the Lens of Myers-Briggs Type Indicators on June 13, Conflict Resolution on Sept. 19 and Human Resources 101 on Nov. 7.

Each class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be held in CMC's Bristol Hall, Room 220. The fee is $100, but those who preregister for all four programs get a $10 per program discount. New appointments at Sheraton resort

The Sheraton Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs has appointed Jon Demel to the position of executive chef and Matt Elkins to executive sous chef at the resort. The resort also has appointed Scott Buchewicz as director of housekeeping, Carl Sokia as director of human resources, Courtney Case as front office manager and Robert Harbison as director of finance.

Shareholder added to design consultant firm

Civil Design Consultants reported that it has added Randy Sackett as a shareholder in the company. Sackett joined the Steamboat Springs-based firm in 2005 and has since managed the civil engineering of private development and public improvement projects across the area, according to a news release. He is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado and Washington and has 22 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of water, wastewater, storm drainage, roadway and civil site improvements, the release said.

Civil Design Consultants, founded in Steamboat Springs in 1987, is a 15-person consulting firm that provides engineering and planning services to private clients and municipalities throughout Northwest Colorado.
