Chamber scholarship deadline is April 8

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Ambassadors are offering $14,000 in scholarships to local students this year. Applications for this year's scholarships are available at all five Routt County high schools and are due April 8. Finalists are selected on academics, community involvement, school participation and work experience. Winners are announced at graduation ceremonies. Two scholarships also will be awarded to returning college sophomore applicants. Call Meadow Jones at 846-7290 for scholarship information. Call Craig Kennedy at 846-9859 for golf tournament information.

Master Farm Homemaker Guild offers scholarship

The Colorado Master Farm Homemaker Guild is offering a $500 scholarship to a Colorado woman with an agriculture background. Known as the "second chance scholarship," it will be given to someone who has had her college education interrupted or postponed and is hoping to continue her higher education. Homemakers are encouraged to apply. Requirements are three references and statements of work history, community involvement, future goals and why she should receive the scholarship. Applications are due May 15. The award must be used in the year it is received. Applications are available at the Routt County Cooperative Extension Office in the Routt County Courthouse Annex.
