Youth lacrosse signups end today

Children's Health Fair offers countywide checkups

Several local agencies, including the Northwest Colorado Board of Cooperative Educational Services, are sponsoring the Children's Health Fair next month. The fair is for children 4 months to 5 years old, and offers free vision and hearing screenings along with free assessments of language, cognition, physical and social development. To make an appointment for South Routt dates on March 10 and 11, call 638-4558. For Steamboat Springs dates on March 17 and 18, call 879-0391. For Hayden appointments on March 20, call 276-3756.

Local youths needed for Teen Council

The city's Teen Council offers local teens a chance to share their views and ideas about how to make Routt County a better place to live for all youth and teens. Teen Council is a fun and exciting opportunity to hang out with friends, make a positive difference in the community and give teens a voice. Meetings will be held twice a month. The first meeting is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 25 at the new Steamboat Springs Community Center, on U.S. Highway 40 west of downtown. Dinner will be provided. Little League registration under way

Registration is now open for Little League baseball in Steamboat Springs. The cost is $85. Registration forms are available at the city's Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services office on Howelsen Parkway. Practices begin May 19. The season ends with a City Championship Tournament on Aug. 2. Leagues are available for players 8 to 15 years old. Contact Stace Toye with questions at 291-9052.

Opportunity for antique, vintage exhibit in Hayden

The Hayden Heritage Museum has an opening for an exhibit for this upcoming summer season. Whether it is baby bottles or vintage aprons, pocket knives or mining tools, call the museum to see if your special collection could earn you bragging rights this summer. The featured collection will be on display from mid-May through the end of September and will be the museum's highlighted exhibit for the season. Applications for the display space are due by March 31. Call 276-4380.
