Players, flag ladies and instruments are needed for the marching band in the Fourth of July Parade in Yampa. Players of all abilities are welcome. If you would like to participate, watch for signs at the post office in Yampa. Practices likely will start this month. Call Nora at 638-4511 or 638-4668 to get the music and ask questions, or to lend an instrument to the parade.
Literary Sojourn tickets on sale
Literary Sojourn is Sept. 27 at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort. Steamboat's 16th annual festival of readers and authors features Karen Joy Fowler, Andrew Sean Greer, Nathaniel Philbrick, Elizabeth Strout and Manil Suri, with master of ceremonies Erin McKean. Tickets are on sale at Epilogue Book Co., Off the Beaten Path Bookstore and the Bud Werner Memorial Library.
