Moots hires former SmartWool VP
Steamboat Springs Moots Cycles of Steamboat Springs has hired Rob Mitchell as president, according to a news release. Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing all areas of the company including strategic planning, product and marketing, sales, operations and finance.
Mitchell assumes the role previously held by Moots owner Chris Miller. Miller will remain as owner and continue to serve as chairman of the board, the release stated.
"We are very pleased to have an industry leader like Rob on board as president," Miller said. "His success and ingenuity growing the SmartWool and Nike brands is most impressive. : He's an incredible resource for our small company."
Mitchell served as SmartWool's vice president of products and marketing from 2003 to 2006. He also has held senior management-level positions at Nike, IMG and Mossimo, the news release stated. Most recently, Mitchell has been an independent consultant, providing companies with guidance in developing strategic plans and brand strategies while also serving as an executive coach.
Man appointed to insurance trust for veterinarians
The American Veterinary Medical Association has appointed Jay Hardesty, principal of Ashton Financial Group, to serve its members in the benefits of the Group Health and Life Insurance Trust, according to a news release. Designed by Veterinarians for Veterinarians, the program offers AVMA members quality insurance products at affordable prices, the release stated.
Before he developed Ashton Financial Group, Hardesty worked with John Hancock Financial Services in New York and with MassMutual Financial Services in New York and Colorado. Hardesty is one of four advisers in Colorado who has been selected and accepted for the Veterinary Medical Association's insurance trust program. He will work with veterinarians on the Western Slope and Front Range and will continue to serve families and family businesses. Hardesty has property in Oak Creek and visits the area frequently.
