Bomberg completes internship year
Steamboat Springs resident Max Bomberg, son of Bryan and Karen Bomberg, has completed a gap year at Dynamy Internship Year in Worcester, Mass. Max's year included professional internships, an Outward Bound adventure challenge, community service, college accredited seminars, life coaching and other mentoring relationships.
Northcutt named to Portland's honor roll
Kelly Northcutt of Steamboat Springs is listed on the 2008 spring semester dean's list at the University of Portland. Northcutt is a freshman and majoring in environmental science. Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to make the dean's list.
Seven Steamboat High students excel on ACT
Seven students from Steamboat High School scored in the 95th percentile or higher on the ACT test: Zach Dunlop, Jamie Gay, Katherine Ingalls, Adam Parke, Miriam Pensack, Cody Poirot and Charlie Stoddard. Of those seven, three students, Gay, Pensack, and Stoddard, scored in the 99th percentile or above. Stoddard received a perfect score of 36. According to ACT-generated statistics, one student in 4,000 scored a 36 in 2007. The national average score was a 21.2.
Sarah Bennett of Hayden graduates with 4.0 GPA
Sarah "Becky" Bennett graduated from the Institute of Business and Medical Careers (IBMC), as a medical assistant on Friday, May 16th in Fort Collins. She graduated on the President's List by maintaining a 4.0 grade point average throughout her two years. She was honored in a special ceremony in March and was accepted into the Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Becky is the daughter of Bill Bennett from Hayden and Theresa Bennett Sullivan of Craig. She graduated from Hayden High School in 2003.
Becky lives in Loveland with her husband, Tanner Copeland, daughter, Kennedi, and is expecting their second child the end of May.
