— The All Crimes Enforcement Team concluded an investigation Thursday into a "series of burglaries" that allegedly occurred in Moffat and Routt counties, Garrett Wiggins, ACET task force commander, reported in a news release.

Three Craig residents were arrested and are charged in Moffat County in connection.

Shane Meimerstorf, 35, is charged with theft by receiving, possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tony Swanson, 40, and Sandra Swanson, 43, are charged with possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and child abuse.

Meimerstorf was arrested Tuesday at a residence in the 600 block of Russell Street; the Swansons were arrested there Thursday, Wiggins reported.

"These arrests came after the execution of an ACET search warrant at the address," Wiggins said in the news release.

"The search warrant revealed stolen merchandise that is directly related to several burglaries throughout the cities of Steamboat Springs and Craig. Additional merchandise was seized during the completion of this search warrant that is suspected of being stolen property, as well."

The task force is attempting to learn whether property seized is associated with other burglaries or thefts by notifying the National Crime Information Center, the Colorado Crime Information Center and other law enforcement agencies, Wiggins said.

"Anyone who is or has been the victim of a crime is encouraged to report detailed information to the appropriate authorities as soon as practical," the task force commander said. "If you or anyone you know has been the victim of a crime of burglary or theft and has failed to report the crime, please call your local law enforcement agency and give a detailed report of the items stolen or missing."

The three suspects are in custody at the Moffat County Jail and additional charges could be filed, Wiggins said.

Too bad we don't have Garrett Wiggins as Routt Sheriff. Our sheriff is keeping the courts busy with his own case, while Garrett is out busting drug dealers and burglars.

Amen shadow. The people voted for "change" without bothering to research what kind of "change" they were voting for, well, they got "change". It's so disheartening when so many supposedly intelligent people vote for politicians telling them what they want to hear and do not take the time to check into their character or integrity.

Fine job Commander Wiggins! I do truly hope you are in the next sheriff's race. The county and communities need a caring and proactive person such as you. We need a Sheriff that we can be proud of and know will DO THE JOB!

Someone has to do the "dirty" work, even if the leadership is incompetent! It's a good thing we have people with personal initiative in the department, doing their job! Have a good day!
