Steamboat briefs for June 2

The Steamboat Art Museum is in need of volunteers for two- or three-hour shifts, Tuesdays to Sundays. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. Training will be provided and volunteers can train to be docents of upcoming exhibits. Call Nancy at 846-0504 or the museum at 870-1755.

Luke Graham: Boston fans, various notes

Boy, it has to be good to be from Boston right now. Even if the Patriots lost in the Super Bowl, having the Red Sox - my vote for the best team in baseball - and the Celtics play as well as they have helps soften the blow a little. It's really an unprecedented run for a city.

Hanging baskets around town, the annual beds at the Lincoln Avenue Post Office and the flowers at the entrance to the Depot Art Center all were overflowing with the annual Petunia "Dreams" pink grandiflora.
