Marvin Lindsey

Age: 68

Occupation: Retired

Place of birth: Kansas

Q. When did you move to Routt County, and what brought you here?

A. We moved here in 1999 after coming to Steamboat for a number of years. We wanted to retire someplace where the kids and grandkids would want to come. And they sure do.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken recently?

A. Remaining in the stock market.

Q. Describe your morning routine.

A. Up early, two cups of coffee, glass of orange juice and the paper. Sometimes I throw in the gym.

Q. Has a book ever changed your life? What was it and why?

A. The Bible because it is unchanging and contains all the life wisdom one needs as well as the way to salvation.

Q. What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

A. Under promise, over deliver and always guard your honor, integrity, name and reputation.

Q. What three things would you want people to know about you?

A. I have a wonderful spouse and family, I am a committed Christian, and I expect only the best out of myself and others.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. An engineer

Q. If you could invite any four people to dinner, who would they be and what would you talk about?

A. Bill O'Reilly, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama and John McCain. We would talk about the six or eight major problems facing this country and why we can't get a bipartisan solution. The fur would fly, but they couldn't leave until they had an action plan that they could all support. What an opportunity!

Q. What was your first job?

A. Baling hay for $1 an hour.

Q. Who is your favorite superhero? Why?

A. The Lone Ranger, but we didn't classify him as a superhero when I was a kid.

Q. If you could go back in time, to what event or time period would you go?

A. I can't imagine a time period that is more exciting than the one I have lived in. More inventions and changes in life have occurred in the past 50 to 100 years than in all of history.
