2 a.m. A man complained about noise on Clubhouse Drive. He said he heard a loud yelping sound and thought it might be an injured dog. Police found some foxes making noise. They took no action.
3:49 a.m. A suspicious incident was reported at a hotel in the 2000 block of Village Inn Court. Several people showed up at the hotel with minor injuries. They were intoxicated and said they had been in a traffic wreck. Officers investigated and found that a wreck occurred in Strawberry Park outside city limits. They handed over the incident to the Colorado State Patrol.
4:01 a.m. A suspicious incident was reported at Fifth and Yampa streets. A man reported that a vehicle backed into a construction site. He said he saw brake lights and heard a crash. Officers found nothing amiss.
4:33 a.m. A man reported a loud party in the 1000 block of Shadow Run Frontage. A warrant had been issued for one of the people contacted, and police made an arrest.
5:26 a.m. A red truck with kayaks in the back was found in a ditch on Routt County Road 36. The incident was turned over to the Colorado State Patrol.
7:21 a.m. A theft was reported in the 2000 block of Pine Grove Circle. A woman found the front window of her vehicle smashed and a purse locked inside the vehicle was taken. Police took a report and are investigating.
7:40 a.m. Domestic violence was reported in Steamboat Springs. A woman and her husband got into an altercation. He reportedly left on foot, and she followed him in a vehicle. Police said that on two occasions, she pulled up beside him and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. The 47-year-old Steamboat woman was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and domestic violence.
10:01 a.m. Vandalism was reported in the 1000 block of Pine Street. A woman showed officers damage to her red Subaru. The vehicle had claw marks all over it that were consistent with a wild animal. Because a human did not cause the damage, no criminal act was committed.
12:27 p.m. A man called to report that a silver Toyota was driving over the speed limit on Bob Adams Drive. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
12:36 p.m. Sheriff's Office officials responded to a call in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue in Oak Creek. A caller said a woman could not get a child back from his or her father. The two reportedly were having an argument over the child. No more information was available.
2:34 p.m. Vandalism was reported in the 300 block of Sixth Street. A home and at least one vehicle were struck by paintballs during the previous evening.
3:06 p.m. A person came in to the Sheriff's Office and filled out a report regarding a dog bite that occurred July 15.
3:34 p.m. One vehicle backed into another at Ninth and Yampa streets. Police took a report.
3:56 p.m. A vehicle reportedly was blocking the entry to a person's field at Mount Werner Road and the Tree Haus bridge.
5:25 p.m. A bike was found in the 3000 block of Chinook Lane. It was taken to the Police Department.
6:32 p.m. A vehicle stalled in the roadway at Mount Werner Road and Central Park Drive. Police helped start it and push it to a gas station.
7:59 p.m. A hit-and-run was reported in the 700 block of Yampa Street. Police weren't able to locate the vehicle that left. The parked vehicle that was struck sustained no damage, and police did not take a report.
8:10 p.m. A trespass in progress was reported in the 50000 block of Buck Mountain Lane in Clark. According to the Sheriff's Office, a man would not leave the reporting person's residence; he had been sitting on the porch for three hours. Officers gave him a ride.
8:41 p.m. A woman reported a disturbance in the 20000 block of Windward Way. Police found a parent and child having a loud discussion. They took no action.
8:58 p.m. Domestic violence was reported in Steamboat Springs. A parent was having difficulty with a 9-year-old child. Police mediated the situation and suggested that the parent talk to someone about parenting issues and how to cope with defiant children.
9:54 p.m. A person complained about noise in the 700 block of South Lincoln Avenue, saying children were being too loud at a hotel pool and a truck was idling. The children and the truck were gone when an officer arrived.
10:14 p.m. A motor vehicle wreck was reported in the 30000 block of East U.S. Highway 40. A Geo Prizm was in ditch, having missed the turnoff for a gas station. Authorities called a towing service, and no more information was available.
