County to close C.R. 51B through September
Steamboat Springs — Routt County Road 51B from Routt County Road 27 west to Xcel's Hayden Station will be closed to all vehicle traffic from Wednesday through Sept. 30, 2008, for a realignment. C.R. 51B can be accessed on the west side from C.R. 51. Call the Routt County Road and Bridge Department at 879-0831 for information.
VNA warns of firework risks around holidays
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, or VNA, reminds residents that fireworks-related injuries are most common on and around holidays associated with fireworks celebrations, especially the Fourth of July. Thousands of people are treated in emergency departments each year for injuries sustained from fireworks. The safest way to prevent fireworks-related injuries is to leave fireworks displays to trained professionals. For more information, visit www.cdc.gov and search "fireworks."
