Steamboat RE/MAX team honored

Ken Gold and the Gold Team at RE/MAX Steamboat, composed of Val Lish, Lisa Ruffino and Liz Langely, were named the No. 1 real estate team in the Mountain States Region three times in 2007. The Mountain States Region consists of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota.

The Gold Team also ranked 17th in the entire country, despite being in a small market and competing against RE/MAX brokers in all major U.S. cities.

Givnish joins Chamber Resort Association

Kara Givnish, formerly an event producer with Philadelphia-based ESM Productions, has been hired as the new special events director for the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association. Givnish will take over for Matt Windt, who vacated the position to take a job with Vail Resorts.

In her new special events role, Givnish will be responsible for implementing the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association's events, including the Winter Carnival street events, Steamboat Marathon, Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, Fourth of July Parade, Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Labor Day weekend's Wild West Air Fest.

Givnish also will be responsible for overseeing the allocation of special event funding earmarked for nonski season events, sponsorship management and solicitation, and will be the contact for the Chamber's Web site community calendar.

Before moving to Steamboat Springs, Givnish produced events including music and art festivals, conferences, award ceremonies and news conferences. She holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from the West Virginia University School of Journalism.
