Marie Matta: Cheap shots

I usually do not read Ann Coulter's column because her mean-spiritedness and superficial views just make me angry. However, I made an exception. The heading of her column and the first paragraph about the passing of her father caught my attention, and I thought she would reveal a gentler side of herself. How naive of me! Much to my disappointment, she still managed to politicize her memories of him and take cheap shots at individuals and organizations on the other side of her political fence. Clearly, her dad was a good man, and my condolences to her on her loss, but I feel equally sorry for her that she was unable even to write a tribute to her father without injecting her poisonous political platitudes.
