CMC offers free English as a Second Language classes

Free English as a Second Language, or Ingles como Segundo Idioma, classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs.

Classes for beginners through advanced students meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Advanced students can join the morning class at 9:30 Wednesdays. Meet in Willett Hall, Room 303. Call 870-4428 for more information. Preguntas, 879-9668.

CMC book-, article-writing classes begin next week

Longtime local writing instructor Edith Lynn Beer will teach two courses, "Writing a Book that Sells" and "Writing an Article that Sells," at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, beginning Jan. 14. Call 870-4444.

Free minor purchase signs offered to liquor stores

In conjunction with the Youth Wellness Initiative, Grand Futures Prevention Coalition is distributing signs for liquor stores that warn customers against purchasing alcohol for minors. The four-inch decals are intended to be posted on the front door of the store, cautioning adults about the legal consequences of providing alcohol to minors. Off-premise liquor license holders interested in obtaining a free sign should call 879-6188.
