Hayden student receives Boettcher scholarship
Steamboat Springs Hayden High School senior Janna Hoza has received a 2008 Boettcher Foundation Scholarship, given to only 40 Colorado students annually. The scholarship is given to students who exhibit scholarship, leadership and achievement, and provides full tuition, fees, a book allowance and a stipend for living expenses at any four-year college or university in Colorado. More than 1,100 students applied for the scholarship in 2007-08.
Hoza, 17, has been on the high school's high honor roll in each year of her high school career. She has received numerous awards, including the Scholar Athlete Award, the University of Colorado at Boulder's Outstanding Junior Award and the Colorado School of Mines Medal of Achievement in Math and Science. She is the Optimist Club's Teen of the Month for January.
