Steamboat Springs National retailer REI has honored Steamboat Springs-based outdoor products company Big Agnes as Vendor Partner of the Year in the Camp/Travel Division. Big Agnes employees collected their award at REI's recent winter Outdoor Retailer trade show in Salt Lake City.
The awards program, established in 1993, recognizes key vendors for building strategic and successful relationships with REI. The retailer's merchandising divisions nominate companies based on financial performance, community and industry involvement and product quality. REI retail employees vote from the slate of nominees to determine winners.
Cortez-based Osprey Packs, Inc., took the honor for REI's overall Vendor Partner of the Year. Two California firms, Electra Bicycle Company and Mountain Hardware, took awards for the Action Sports and Outdoorwear divisions.
