Gerri Wilmer: Real Republicans
Advertisement
Steamboat Springs Voters have a chance to select a real Republican, not a Republican in Name Only (RINO). Look at John McCain carefully. This 72-year-old RINO has a record of siding with the liberal Democrats and with his "good ole boy" Clinton club. He hasn't closed the border in his own state of Arizona, and illegals are stampeding over the border with McCain ready to give them amnesty and Social Security cards.
Would it matter to him one iota if he became president and bankrupted our country because of his open border policies? Better think about our future!
Let's look at the real Republican candidate who you will be able to choose on Super Tuesday. Gov. Mitt Romney deserves your support and your vote. Check his record in dealing with illegal aliens. He didn't give them a free pass. With our economy in dire straits, Mitt Romney is the only successful businessman of the whole group of candidates running for president. He's the only man who can finally give us hope for changing the broken, upside-down Washington pie. He's not a career politician who only knows how to warm a seat once in awhile in the Senate.
Hopefully, you will see this letter, because you will not see it in the New York Times or any of the syndicated newspapers. Heck, the syndicated media are so afraid of his candidacy they put any good news about him in small print on page 20.
So there you have it, America, the real choice for a forward-looking candidate is Mitt Romney. He's our best shot for stability in our economically challenged atmosphere, and for firm dealing with illegal aliens.
Yes, he'll bring good change stopping what looks like a drunken, destructive wildfire in our economy.

Shame on you, Gerri- just what did you learn by hiring the latest (little w) corrupt-insider-daddy's-boy-special-interest-mouthpiece??? Apparently NOTHING. Now you want another one???
Romney just disgraced himself by thoroughly insulting an actual American HERO, Bob Dole. Romney is ANOTHER embarassing disgrace waiting to happen.
Gerri-John McCain is twice the Republican and three times the AMERICAN that you are. He, unlike you, cares about more than a narrow partisan agenda. He cares about a NATION.

I like the one where the little boy asked his grandma if all fairy tales started with Once Upon a Time and grandma replied, no there are many that begin with If Elected I Promise.

Isn't the republican party supposed to be the one that is good at economics? When did they become the 'close the border' party? Economics 101: Where there is a demand, supply will increase to meet that demand- there is a demand for illegal immigrant labor in this country because the government doesn't prevent companies from hiring them. Until that is remedied, there is no amount of fences that can keep the supply from getting to that demand.
And by the way, Ms Wilmer, US senators don't create policies in their own state, they vote on national policies, so the fact that there are illegal immigrants in Arizona really doesn't say much about McCain, it would be the goverment of Arizona that you are trying to blame, he is part of the US government.

No sure who or what is a "maroon" but, today's news about Romney withdrawing in favor of McCain sure is welcome.
