— Age: 35

Occupation: Executive Director of Integrated Community (immigration attorney by trade)

Place of birth: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Q. When did you move to Routt County, and what brought you here?

A. Aug. 30, 2008. The love of mountains and out-of-doors.

Q. What's the biggest risk you've taken recently?

A. Moving to Steamboat Springs with my two cats during an economic recession and leaving behind my beloved friends and family.

Q. Describe your morning routine.

A. Snooze the alarm clock five times, fall off my bed, complain about having to wear clothes every day.

Q. Has a book ever changed your life? What was it and why?

A. "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. I read it as a 17-year-old and ever since, I have witnessed, with fright, how the madding pursuit of efficiency, productivity, convenience and specialization plays out in real life much as it did in the book. We have paid a high price for all of it.

Q. What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

A. The truth leaves people behind.

Q. What three things would you want people to know about you?

A. 1) Climbing very large trees to trim the top for a Christmas tree, rather than kill younger ones, may be an emotional act but not an absurd one. 2) Folding, wrapping and rigging are very therapeutic activities. 3) Supertramp still rocks, no matter what others say.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. A professional modern dancer.

Q. Do you collect anything?

A. Friends.

Q. Who is your favorite superhero? Why?

A. Spiderman. Slim, flexible and a climber of all things vertical - hot.

Q. What is your favorite thing to do in Routt County?

A. Hot springs. I hope hiking becomes the top when I can actually start doing it.
