4 Points' guide to New Year's Eve festivities

The champagne corks will pop at midnight Jan. 1. The only question is, where will you be? Below is 4 Points' guide to New Year's Eve festivities in and around Steamboat Springs.

Bear River Bar and Grill

When: Doors open at 8:45 p.m., show starts at 9:30 p.m.

New Year's Eve Ball

Where: Sheraton Steamboat Resort ballroom

Cost: $75 per person, $140 per couple; ticket includes dessert buffet and coffee bar, two drink tickets, a champagne toast at midnight, a volunteer awards ceremony and door prizes. Tickets are available at the ECO office, All That Jazz and the Sheraton concierge desk.

Specials: The bar will offer a different themed drink special every hour from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. to correspond with the region of the world celebrating the new year at that time. Specials start with Irish whiskey at 5 p.m. and move on to something related to Alaska by 2 a.m.
