Throughout December, visitors to had the chance to register for the contest, which required that the contestants answer questions about local businesses. Howlin's name was drawn randomly from a group of contestants who answered all the questions correctly.

Howlin can choose to spend the $500 at any of the 75 businesses that have enhanced listings on Howlin said she plans to use the money for last-minute Christmas shopping.

Museum closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

The Tread of Pioneers Museum will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The museum will resume normal operating hours on Friday.

Pink scarves sale benefits breast cancer awareness

For the fifth consecutive year, pink scarves are on sale at Epilogue Book Co. on Lincoln Avenue, in time for the holiday season, with all profits benefiting the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Program. Call Jo at 846-2627.

Donations of yarn and scarves are needed for the program and can be dropped off at Epilogue Book Co.
