Entrants sought for Chuck Wagon Chili Challenge

The annual Downtown Hoedown/Chuck Wagon Chili Challenge has combined forces with the Festival of the Americas for a fun, multi-cultural event, the "South Meets the West Festival," from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 on 12th Street next to Little Toots Park in Steamboat Springs. Mainstreet Steamboat Springs and Integrated Community are seeking contestants for the chili challenge in red, green and firehouse categories. This year, two new categories have been added: salsa and cornbread. Test your recipes against the best in the region. In addition to the chili challenge, there will be live music and entertainment on two stages, children's activities, vendors and beer/beverage sales. Library closed during move; seeking volunteers

Bud Werner Memorial Library is closed to the public through Sept. 12, to allow for the moving of collections and set-up in the new library building. During closure, there are no overdue fines and bookdrops will remain open.
