Families going west
The number of single-family homes priced less than $700,000 has been growing this summer in the neighborhoods west of Steamboat Springs city limits.
Ulrich Salzgeber of Buyers Resource Real Estate reports that when you extend the U.S. Highway 40 corridor to Milner, there are 54 homes listed in that price range.
Steamboat II alone has 11 active listings below $700,000. The length of time on market ranges from six to 231 days. More typical are homes that have been listed within the past 45 to 90 days.
Under contract
The number of modestly priced single-family homes under contract for pending sale citywide is three.
They include a 1,200-square-foot home on the south side of Steamboat in River Place that was listed for $499,000.
Not far away as the magpie flies, there is a 1,780-square-foot home in Whistler Meadows that is under contract. It was listed for $635,000.
A smaller home in Old Town, listed for $450,000 also is under contract. The house on James Street offers 972 square feet.
