Steamboat Springs In response to Dr. Savage's statement, "In the interest of scientific integrity and, in fact, intellectual integrity broadly speaking, the article should have said 'some scientists.'" "Scientist", in the global warming debate, gives the scientist the ability to pass their opinion off as fact.
As complicated as the climate is, the only "scientist" you should listen to should be a climatologist.
"The cooling from January 2007 to January 2008 was sufficient to cancel almost all warming of the 20th century."
This statement will not stand up to the scientific method. 2007 cannot be a turning point until we know what 2009, 2010 reveals. Also the term "almost" reveals his opinon, not fact. Almost cooler than what? 2006, 1998, 1900, 1800, 300 million B.C.?
Aspen, Vail and governor Ritter accept and understand the science behind global warming and are taking action. The opinions of Dr. Savage are just that, "opinions."
