1:32 a.m. A possible burglary was reported in the 900 block of Oak Street, where a door had been left open. Police said there was no criminal activity; everything was fine.
6:14 a.m. A one-vehicle accident was reported near mile marker 120 on U.S. Highway 40, where a minivan went off the road and struck a tree. The driver, a 22-year-old man residing in Hayden, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 23-year-old La Jara man, was seriously injured and transported via ambulance to Yampa Valley Medical Center. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
6:40 a.m. A suspicious vehicle was reported near mile marker 101 on U.S. 40, at the rest stop west of Hayden, parked on the grass behind some trees. The occupants agreed to move the vehicle.
9:42 a.m. Trespassing was reported in the 38700 block of Routt County Road 53 near Hayden, where a man's ex-wife was showing up at his workplace in violation of court orders. A trespassing citation was issued.
10:13 a.m. A two-vehicle, hit-and-run accident was reported in the 700 block of Yampa Street. There were no injuries. Police took a report.
10:59 a.m. A stolen vehicle trailer was reported in the 1300 block of 13th Street. Police are investigating; suspects are unknown.
11:27 a.m. A suspicious text message was reported on Deerfoot Avenue. Everything was fine.
12:24 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported in the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Police took a report.
1:11 p.m. Trespassing was reported in the 1500 block of Anglers Drive. Police took a report.
1:14 p.m. A vehicle complaint was received from Sparta Plaza, where a motorcycle was being excessively noisy. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
2:54 p.m. Police were called to the 1800 block of Central Park Drive, where a woman was unable to rebuff a man's advances. Police took a report.
3:06 p.m. A small brushfire was reported on the side of the 33100 block of U.S. 40 south of Steamboat Springs. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue extinguished the flames.
3:44 p.m. Theft of a wallet was reported in the 1100 block of Yampa Street. Police took a report.
3:45 p.m. Theft of a bicycle was reported in the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Police took a report.
4:07 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported in the 1100 block of Hilltop Parkway. Police took a report.
5:58 p.m. A two-vehicle, hit-and-run accident was reported in the 2400 block of Lincoln Avenue. There were no injuries. Police took a report.
6:41 p.m. A two-vehicle accident was reported in the 300 block of Anglers Drive. There were minor injuries that did not require medical attention. Police took a report.
9:20 p.m. A burglar alarm went off in the 33400 block of Catamount Drive. Everything was fine.
9:52 p.m. An Arvada man was arrested during a traffic stop at Medicine Springs Road and Apres Ski Way on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of an open container, and failure to display his headlights.
10:38 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the 500 block of Wyatt Drive, where a large group of underage people was drinking at a party. Citations were issued.
10:42 p.m. A drunken driver was reported in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive, where an intoxicated man drove away after being evicted. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
11:08 p.m. A drunken driver was reported at Fourth and Pine streets, where a man pulled over after weaving, threw up on the side of the road, and got back in his car. A bicyclist also reported nearly being hit by the same driver. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
11:58 p.m. A burglar alarm went off in the 33400 block of Catamount Drive. Police said everything was fine.
