Steamboat Springs A telephone survey of South Routt residents is under way as part of a study looking at transit needs in South Routt County and the feasibility of shuttle service to and from Steamboat Springs.
County Commissioner Diane Mitsch Bush, who is program manager for the South Routt Transit Needs and Feasibility Study, is urging people not to hang up on the telephone survey. Mitsch Bush said she is particularly concerned about hang-ups due to the large volume of campaign calls residents are receiving this presidential election year. Questions should be directed to Mitsch Bush at 870-5220.
County commissioners launch chat series
During the next month, the Routt County Board of Commissioners will host a series of chats with residents. Commissioner Diane Mitsch Bush described each meeting as "an open public comment section" without an agenda. The commissioners will not take any official action at the meetings.
"We wanted to provide an opportunity for working people to come in and talk about whatever," Commissioner Doug Monger said.
"There's no such thing as a bad question or a dumb issue," Mitsch Bush added. "We're their elected officials."
The first chat is 6 p.m. Monday in the commissioners' hearing room at the Routt County Courthouse Annex in Steamboat Springs. The second is 6 p.m. May 6 at the Oak Creek Town Hall. The third is 6 p.m. May 12 at the Hayden Town Hall. The fourth and final chat is 6 p.m. May 20 at the North Routt Fire Station. Pizza and refreshments will be provided at the chats.
