Education Fund Board launches Web site

The Steamboat Springs Education Fund Board has launched its new Web site at www.steamboateducationfund.org. The Fund Board is a nonprofit, independent corporation that administers revenues from the city's half-cent sales tax for education.

The Fund Board is in discussions with the Steamboat Springs City Council about placing renewal of the half-cent sales tax on the November 2008 ballot.

County seeking PDR grant applications

Routt County's Purchase of Development Rights Program is accepting applications for this year's round of grants. Applications are due May 7. The program compensates landowners with cash for putting their property under conservation easements. Interested property owners should call the Yampa Valley Land Trust at 879-7240 or Helena Bond in the Routt County Board of Commissioners office at 879-0108.

Volunteers, trucks needed for youth event

Volunteers with trucks are needed for the second annual Touch a Truck event, a free, hands-on display of trucks and large vehicles for kids of all ages from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 31 at Howelsen Park. Contact Jody at 846-8523 or jody@bluedogevents.com.
