Ski pass increase low
Steamboat Springs $30 is a drop in the bucket. That much money shouldn't make anyone reconsider a $1,000 purchase. That is 3 % of the cost. Just look around on the ground. I've probably picked up $30 worth of pocket change lying around in parking lots this winter. $30 is less than ten gallons of gasoline for your car. $30 is about two bags of groceries at the store or one bag if you shop at the market on the mountain. $30 is about one third of the cost of a single day ticket. Every skier on the mountain is wearing $2,000 of clothing, boots, poles, skis, bindings etc.

Tipping point
Skiing schedule vs. price has finally tipped into the "NO" column. It is not the $30 this year, it is the $200 in the last several years. I do not argue with any business's right to price their product as they see fit. As someone who skis a couple of hours at a time maybe once a week, the pass no longer makes sense.

Triple Crown vote
It's time that the whole issue of Triple Crown Sports be put to a vote of the residents of Steamboat Springs.
Does the business community truly believe that the majority of residents of Steamboat Springs approves and/or welcomes the invasion of Triple Crown Sports?
If the City Council approves an "ordinance" extending and/or modifying the contract with Triple Crown, the residents of Steamboat Springs should exercise their right of referendum.
